In 2010, some cynics claimed, “If you don’t want to stand out in Munich, you’re better off driving a black Porsche 997 Carrera S Coupé.” Of course, as a salesman at a Bavarian Porsche Zentrum at the time, I couldn’t confirm that—but the claim wasn’t entirely far-fetched.

And yet there were such great competitors as the Aston Martin V8 Vantage shown here. A 4.7-liter V8 with a sound to fall in love with—and without the need for an optional sports exhaust system. Leather in the interior as far as the eye can see. And driving dynamics and engine characteristics that invite the driver to really get things going—in other words, revs and speed.
