They say a Porsche 911 collection wouldn't be complete without a very early 911 2.0 in its ranks. That's a bold claim.

We were tempted to say we’d seen them all—the 911. We’ve also dealt in every model over the past 30 years, from the F-model to the 992—so what could be so special about a 911 with a 300xxx chassis number?
And then, all of a sudden, there’s a very early model right in front of you. One of the first 600 Porsche 911s ever produced.
You can recognize the silhouette, of course—after all, it’s been unmistakable for over 60 years. The engine is right where it belongs, too. But something is different; it feels different.

The original Porsche brochure describes it as attractive, clean, simple, and elegant. And yes, that’s all true, but there’s something else about this Porsche 911. Is it the shorter wheelbase? The knowledge that this is where it all began? This—sorry, 992 T—absolute purity, the absence of all those spoilers that have become so commonplace?

So far, we don't have an answer to the question of what makes it so special. But we're going to seize this rare opportunity and get to the bottom of it. We'll pull up a chair and listen. And we'll get in, take it for a ride, and experience what it was designed for: driving in its purest form. (Direct quote from the original brochure)
